Machinal by Sophie Treadwell

Machinal is an impressionist play written in the 1920's in which a young woman is slowly driven mad by the machinations of society until she eventually murders her husband and is executed. I played both the mother to the young woman--- who is clearly the source of much of her struggle---, and the lawyer to the prosecution--- who is ultimately responsible for convincing the court to sentence her to death. In addition, I sang backstage during the final scene of the play.
